There were 585 households out of which 72.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 39.3% were married couples living together, 29.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 2.73% had a male householder with no wife present. 5.98% of all households were made up of individuals and 22.05% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
In the township the population was spread out with 43.5% under the age of 18, 11.3% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 7.46% who were 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a household in the township was $32,969, and the median income for a family was $39,000. The per capita income for the township was $19,588. About 30.2% of families and 36.46% of the population were below the poverty line.
